Shrikhand Recipe
This day marks the beginning of hindu new year. It is celebrated on the first day of Chaitra month.
This day Maharashtrian Families make a dish known as "ShriKhand" which is served with Hot Poori
So, Lets Begin with this Shrikhand Recipe!
3 cups fresh full fat dahi
2 cups powdered sugar
4 saffron strands
1 tbsp warm milk
a few crushed cardamoms
Almonds and rose petals for garnish
Preperation time- 3 hours
Method-
For Chakka ( Hung curd)
Hang the curd in a muslin cloth (cotton) in a cool place for approximately 3 hours until all the liquid is fully poured out
For Shrikhand
Mix Hang curd,cardamom in a bowl add powdered sugar, Mix it well to make a thick mixture Take 2 tbsp warm milk add saffron it to stir it well so that saffron dissolves it completelyBeat this mixture using a hand blender Garnish it with chopped almonds and rose petals Keep it in a refrigerator for about 2 hours Serve it with hot poori :)
